Washington University in St. Louis Annual Golf Event for the Athletics Department (W Club)
History:
The W Club was established in 1989 as a formal way for alumni and friends to help support the programs and opportunities offered by the Washington University Athletic Department.
The organization takes its name from a student group in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s for athletes who earned letters in varsity sports. Like its namesake, today’s W Club seeks to build pride in athletics at Washington University, to ensure the success of the programs and to instill a sense of camaraderie among those with a shared interest in athletics.
Good things don’t just happen by chance. Rather, they are a result of people helping people – coming together as a team with focus and determination to reach the mark and achieve the goal. We are indeed grateful to our alumni, parents, friends, and companies/corporations that support the Athletic Department’s goal for enrichment.
